The Lyon County Crisis Intervention Team Training (CIT) was held July 29th through 08/02/19. This class was attended by 33 people from various state and local agencies throughout Northern Nevada. We had law enforcement officers, corrections officers, dispatchers, human/social services, mental health providers, dispatchers, juvenile probation officers, even animal control and a bailiff attend the 40 hours course. All of these individuals learned various techniques and tools to assist them in handling people in various types of crisis. The class also highlights some of the local resources we have available in the area to help with anything from providing food to people in mental health crisis.
